Cevada Torrada
For caffeine-free beverage
Barley was domesticated in the Fertile Crescent over ten thousand years ago and spread across Eurasia in the following centuries. It is now one of the most widely produced grains in the world. It can be used for many purposes, such as making beer, flour and tea, as well as a beverage that can serve as a coffee substitute.
Its popularity increased during the two World Wars when coffee shortages forced people to find alternatives. Today, roasted barley is a popular choice of non-caffeinated beverage thanks to its flavour, nutritional value and affordable price.
Preparation:
1.Select your favorite substitute and chose the grinding more adequate to your machine or preparation method.
2.Dose the beverage with 12 to 15g of barley for each coffe cup, according to your personal tastes.
3.Preferably use non-sparkling spring water. Always scald your coffee cup (preferably porcelain).
4.Serve immediately. Keep the package well sealed and stored in a cool place protected from sunlight.
If you opt for on-the-spot grinding, the date on the package is the grind date, and should be consumed in a period of 90 days.
