In 1932, at the age of 25, José Moreira acquired a small grocery store in Matosinhos, which quickly gained recognition for the exceptional quality of its coffee, which at the time was sourced from Angola. Popularly known as the "Casa do Café de Angola," its name was later shortened to "Casa Angola."
Over the years, his wife, Elvira Oliveira, dedicated herself to the art of coffee, creating and refining more than 80 blends and mixtures, ranging from the most popular mixtures made with chicory and barley to the most sophisticated and selective coffee blends. Her passion led her to explore and master the coffee flavors from the most prestigious origins: São Tomé, Brazil, Angola, Timor-Leste, Colombia, and Egypt, thus building a legacy that endures to this day.
