With more than a century of history, Licor Beirão is Portugal's most iconic spirited drink. Its recipe, a closely guarded secret, results from the distiling of 13 aromatic plants and seeds from all over the world.

It's unique flavor, fruit of the perfect equilibrium between sweet and herbal, as well as tangible notes of cinnamon and eucaliptus. Its flavor profiles makes Beirão a highly versatile beverage, making it perfect to drink by itself, accompanied by ice and lemon, to be served as a digestif, or as a base for modern cocktails, such as the famous Caipirão.

To this day produced in Quinta do Meiral in Lousã, Licor Beirão maintains its quality and artisanship that make a symbol of portuguese hispitality and tradition to this day.

Licor Beirão is one of Portugal's most iconic liqueurs, with a history dating back to the 19th century. Its popularity exploded in 40s thanks to José Carranca Redondo, who took over the company and implemented a marketing strategy that was unprecedented at the time.

He promoted the liqueur at parties and fairs, securing its place in the hearts and minds of the Portuguese people. However, this marketing would not have been effective without the secret recipe, which remains the brand's closely guarded secret and the reason for its unique flavour. Today, Licor Beirão is recognised in more than 70 countries, and continues to uphold its traditions and high standards.

The Experience: Lote Arábica's balanced softness and acidity are ideal for cold beverages, letting the freshness of Beirão shine without overpowering the palate.
How to Serve: In a tall glass with plenty of ice, mix a long coffee with 4cl of Licor Beirão. Mix lightly e finalize with a slice of lemon for an irresistible citric touch.
